FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

The seminary academic program is comprised of only one faculty; the Theologicum.

The theological studies at St. Paul’s National Major Seminary last for four years. The classes are conducted only during weekdays from 8:30 am to 12:50 pm.

Theological studies at St. Pauls National Seminary last for four years.

Students who successfully complete their studies from this seminary are awarded a Diploma in Theological and Pastoral Studies. To qualify for this diploma, a student must have scored a minimum average of 60% in all the examinations sat within the four years. Any student who does not score this pass mark is given a certificate of attendance at the end of his four years’ stay in this institution. Since the pass mark is 60%, the ordination to deaconate for any student who does not fulfil this requirement is left to his Bishop to decide.

 

OFFICE OF THE DEAN OF STUDIES

He is the head and mover of all academic related matters at St. Paul’s Seminary.

The Dean of Studies has the following responsibilities:

  • He ensures that lectures are conducted accordingly.
  • Makes the Academic Timetable: The general academic calendar, the timetable for lectures and the examinations’ timetable.
  • Makes the necessary contacts with other academic institutions like Urban University, Makerere University and Ggaba National Seminary.
  • Makes sure that the lectures give exams and hard in marks to the observed.
  • Collaborates with his deputy to ensure proper management of the seminary academic life.
  • He meets the students’ body every semester to talk about academic issues.

 

Director of Research

The Research Methodology Department is under the office of the Dean of Studies.          
The following are some of the responsibilities under this office:

  • To assess and approve research topics and assign moderators.
  • To ensure that the guidelines for writing research papers according to APA method are adhered to.
