YOUNG CHRISTIAN STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (Y.C.S)

This movement was started by a young Belgian priest who later became Joseph Cardinal Cardijin. His determination was to bring Christ to the young people. Upon his transfer to our Lady of Leacken Parish in Brussels, he became chaplain of Leacken girls’ club. He organized girls into employment groups called cells. Each cell would follow a specific procedure in meetings. The same spirit has been embraced at Kinyamasika seminary.

In Kinyamasika therefore, YCS has been understood to be a Christian movement run by students with the mission of forming evangelizing transforming and liberating student’s Milieu. And the overall aim of this movement is to make the students’ world a better and happier place to live in through deepening the faith of the students.
