WRITERS’ CLUB

ORIGIN

Unlike other clubs in this seminary, Writers’ Club is not a language club. Its task is to develop writing and reading skills and talents of her members.  At its inception, the club started as “Education Club” but later it gained its autonomy as Writers’ Club. It was started in the second semester of 1994.  The motto of the club is “Lux et Veritasthat is “Light and Truth”.  This has kept the members strive to be the light of the community by bringing to light all that previously had been covered by darkness.

GOALS OF THE WRITERS CLUB

  • To equip and develop the writing and communicating skills of her members.
  • To widen the mission of Evangelization especially through writing and jotting important elements and preserving them in the annals of history.
  • To boost up the writing and reading culture within the community
  • To be available to the community and be ready to offer it secretarial services.
  • To develop and improve the individual skills of students such as interviewing, news reporting, publishing News Letters, designing and editing articles.

LEADERSHIP

The club is headed by the specified leaders: The Chief Editor, Associate Editors, Treasurer, Secretary, photographer, and Sales Manager. All these are directed by the Fr Chaplain. Membership is open to any person of Kinyamasika community.

ACTIVITIES

  • To write and publish articles so as to inform the community with the authenticity of what goes on within and outside Kinyamasika community hence in charge of biweekly Kinyamasika News roundup.
  • The club lays out, edits, designs, publishes and takes full charge of the Seminary Magazine known as The Fountain Magazine which is produced every end of academic year.
  • Care and updates the Seminary Archives especially in documentation data.
