ITALIAN CLUB

Brief Background

The actual date of the commencement of the Italian club in Kinyamasika is not known with certainty, however, by 1998, it was already in existence. It was principally started so as to offer students with elementary knowledge of Italian considering the universality of the Apostolic Church.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE ITALIAN CLUB

  • To enable members to read and speak the Italian language fluently.
  • Help students learn and interpret other foreign languages found in the same family with Italian.
  • Help students get acquainted and appreciate Italian culture.
  • To help seminarians fully comprehend most of the Vatican documents and use Italian to grasp Latin especially those who never had a chance to do it (Latin) in the minor seminary.

LEADERSHIP

It is run by two student leaders who see to it that lessons are conducted at least once a week that is, the chairman of the club and the assistant. These are supervised by the chaplain who is always well versed with Italian.
