This association was founded by the students from Kampala Ecclesiastical Province: this province is made up of students and staff members from Kampala Archdiocese, Kiyinda-Mityana Diocese, Kasana-Luwero Diocese, Masaka Diocese and Lugazi Diocese. It was started in 1993 in Kinyamasika seminary to bring together all the students who come from the above dioceses. Under normal circumstances, the club stage plays, in the Luganda language to the community of St. Paul’s and to the surrounding communities.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  • It is intended to strengthen togetherness among the students from Kampala Ecclesiastical Province
  • To perfect the Luganda language among the students from Kampala Ecclesiastical Province and others from other localities who are interested in the Ganda culture
  • This association puts emphasis on providing entertainment to the community both internally and externally.

ADDENDUM

All the members of the community are welcome to join the association as long as lone is able to comprehend and abide by the language used (Luganda). The association organizes holy mass at least twice a semester. This association endeavors to see to it that the members start training among themselves the different plays which they are to present to the community and other members outside Kinyamasika. Just like the Banyakitara Drama Club, Katemba offers the community an opportunity to entertain the visitors who come from outside the seminary.

N.B:

It must be noted that in first semester 2011, seminarian Ssekamanya Emmanuel introduced what is referred to as a Talent Show Night. Since then, one seminarian is chosen to be in charge of this department. All the clubs, movements and associations are given a chance to take part: they are to present their items to the person in charge of the Talent Show Department as early as possible
