FOCOLARE MOVEMENT

The Focolare movement was founded in the Catholic Church in 1943 by Chiara Lubich, together with her companions in Trent, Italy. The movement was formed after World War II: for it was after these horrible bombardments that they realized that God is the only one who can bring out true love, a reality worth living and this and this prompted them to dedicate their lives to search for unity. The movement is open to all dominions including Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, among others who seek to embrace the life of love and unity.

At St. Paul’s Seminary, this movement has been steadily growing in the spirituality of love which has bounded the members together. Among the objectives is to enhance unity as willed by Jesus Christ (cf. Jn 17:21).
